Day 18 – Thieves Mouthwash
If you love Thieves toothpaste, you will looove this mouthwash. It even comes in your Thieves starter kit! This mouthwash is toxic free and infused with 100% therapeutic grade essential oils. The best part is that it has the magical power of Thieves.
Like we’ve talked about before, Thieves has antimicrobial properties. This basically means, that Thieves can kill bacteria, fungi, and other viruses. That’s why I love to use it after I brush my teeth to kill all that extra nastiness!
From what I researched, there are many toxic free and safe mouthwashes you can purchase in your nearby grocery store. Check out the Think Dirty app to see which ones are the cleanest.
The reason we use Thieves is because we LOVE THIEVES. It also compliments the toothpaste very well and we end up usually getting it for free because we are essential reward members (hit me up if you wanna learn more about this).
Here are just a few toxic chemicals you want to stay away from when looking for a mouthwash.
- Chlorhexidine gluconate: can cause mouth irritation, dry mouth, tooth staining, decreased in taste
- Hydrogen peroxide: can cause damage to the cells of dental pulp and damage to tooth nerves.
- Methyl salicylate: 10ml can poison a child and 30 ml can poison an adult, has been known to cause bladder cancer in animals.
