The alarm goes off. You click snooze a few times– just kidding, you are a mom. Your toddler wakes you up at 5:45 and says she pee peed in her bed. Yay. The baby is crying and is ready to be fed…again. Your out of milk, cash, and patience. This is the life of a mom. Do you relate?

Could you use a few things to make your life easier? I know I sure can. Here are a few apps that help a mama out when everything seems out of control.

Out of Milk

You get back from the store and realize you forgot to put xyz on the list. Great. Now you get to go back with 3 screaming children. YAY ME! How can you prevent this from happening again? You can get the app Out of Milk.

How to use

Out of Milk is an app that is basically a grocery list on your phone. It can calculate how much items cost in your cart, check things off once you have placed in them in your cart, and is nice and handy when you run out of something at home. It has a pantry list, to-do list, and a shopping list.

I, personally, love this app. It’s simple and easy to use. Since I have downloaded this app, I rarely forget items that I need. When I run out of something I add it to my shopping list. I usually order my groceries online, so I just check them off when I have added them to my cart!

Shopkick

Shopkick is an app to help you earn a few extra dollars. It may take a few weeks, but you can make an extra $20 or $30 bucks if used frequently and correctly. W

How to use

You earn “kicks” when you purchase certain items, scan certain items, visit certain stores, or spend money in certain stores. When you receive a certain amount of “kicks” you can choose a gift card of your choice.

I have earned $25 bucks from this app. This is a great app to use when you are out and about. You can easily earn “kicks” by just walking into stores. I have scanned items and linked my card to receive “kicks.” This takes time so don’t expect to make some money right away. I wouldn’t quit your day job, but it’s a pretty easy way to earn a few extra bucks.

This is a can be a dangerous app because you have so many food options available at your fingertips. Having a rough day with the kids and are still in your PJs at 2? Don’t worry, just order some Chipotle from Uber Eats. It will make you feel better! It’s a great app for a SAHM like me.

Headspace

Headspace is not a productivity app. It doesn’t remind you to take the trash out or save you extra cash. It does, however, help you stay mindful and focused. This is a meditation app that helps you take a brain break.

How to use

Headspace guides you through daily meditation sessions. You can choose 5 minutes, 10 minutes, or longer sessions. You are simply guided through how to breathe, what to think, and how to relax your mind.

Headspace is a meditation app. Wait! Don’t keep scrolling just hold on. I know it seems nearly impossible to have 5 minutes of true alone time a day. Seriously girl, I know. But I really want to encourage you to try this app out. It has made a big influence in my life and I recommend 100%. It takes 5 minutes and they offer a few free courses. The basic course is perfect for me. When your husband gets home or you can miraculously get all the kids to sleep at the same time, just try this app out for 3 days. It really helps to recenter and take a mental break. As mamas, our brains are never stopping. This is good for us! Please try it!
